Description
An integral waterproofing concrete and mortar admixture specifically formulated to reduce capillaries in cement concrete, mortar, and plaster by promoting the rapid hydration of cement. It effectively decreases permeability and enhances the cohesiveness of the mix, thereby improving durability and resistance to water ingress.
Know How to Use Waterproofing Chemicals
Method of Application
- Charge the cement and aggregates into the concrete mixer and mix in dry state for 2-3 mins.
- Gradually 50–60% of the required water and continue mixing for 2–3 minutes.
- Add Plastochem 201 IPW+ as per the dosage to the remaining water, then pour this into the mixer and continue mixing for an additional 2 minutes, for a homogenous mixture.
- Place the mixed concrete or apply plaster as necessary.
- Cure the applied mortar or concrete following standard construction practices.
Application Areas
It is suitable for use in reinforced concrete (RCC) columns, beams, roof slabs, water tanks, basements, external plastering, and other similar applications.
Dosage
Desired dosage of Plastochem 201 IPW+ is 200ml per 50 Kg Cement Bag. A severe over-dosage will result in the retardation of initial set & decrease in workability.
Limitations & Precautions:
- Plastochem 201 IPW+ should be used in recommended dosage.
- Maintain water cement ratio as low as possible.
- Do not add Plastochem 201 IPW+ directly to dry cement & aggregate mix.
- Shake the liquid before use.
- Use rubber hand gloves & safety goggles, while using Plastochem 201 IPW+.
- In case of contact with skin, wash with plenty of water and seek medical guidance, if needed.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Frequently Asked Questions
Prevents damage: It stops water from entering and damaging the structure, preventing problems like mold, dampness, and structural weakening.
Enhances durability: Waterproofing increases the lifespan of a building by protecting it from water and weather-related deterioration.
Improves hygiene: In kitchens, bathrooms, and water tanks, it helps keep the water clean and safe and prevents mold growth.
Roof: To protect against water and weather.
Basements: To prevent groundwater and moisture from causing flooding or damage.
Bathrooms and Kitchens: Due to constant exposure to water.
Water Tanks: To keep water clean and safe.
Foundations: To protect against groundwater exposure, typically done during construction.
Walls: Both interior and exterior walls can benefit from waterproofing to solve dampness issues and protect aesthetics.
- The lifespan of waterproofing solutions typically ranges from 10 to 15 years or more.
- This can vary based on the quality of materials used, the chosen waterproofing method, and the local climatic conditions.
