Know How to Use Crete+ Waterproofing
SURFACE PREPARATION
- Ensure the surface is clean, stable, and free from oils, grease, or any contaminants. Remove loose materials using scraping, chipping, or mechanical abrasion.
- Fill any cracks or level porous areas with an appropriate filler.
- Saturate the surface with clean water for at least one hour before applying.
- For salt-damaged areas, wash thoroughly with muriatic acid and rinse with ample water until neutral to litmus paper.
- Ideal application temperature is between 10° C to 40° C.
MIXING
- In a clean container, add 1 part by weight of Plastochem 209 Crete+.
- Gradually mix in 2 parts by weight of fresh cement while stirring continuous
APPLICATION
- Apply the mixed slurry evenly on the prepared surface using a wide flat brush or trowel.
- Let the first coat air dry for 3 to 6 hours, depending on weather conditions.
- Apply the second coat with a freshly mixed slurry after the first coat has dried sufficiently.
- Stir the slurry frequently during the use to maintain an even consistency and prevent settlement.
CURING
- After application of Plastochem 209 Crete+, let the surface dry for 3-6 hours.
- In case of high temperature and high wind condition, cover the application area with polythene sheet to avoid rapid drying of the coating.
- After 6 hours of air drying, moist curing should be done by spraying clean water and let it dry for 24 hours. Water submersion should be avoided during this time.
- Following moist curing of 24 hours, allow to air dry for next 2 days before submersion in water.
Limitations & Precautions:
- Do not use slurry mixed for more than 30 minutes, as its effectiveness may be reduced.
- Follow recommended dosage only.
- Always add cement to the liquid, not the other way around.
- Apply two or more coats of Plastochem 209 Crete+ for better durability and waterproofing.
- For longer film lifespan, especially in high-traffic areas like roof slabs, add a thin layer of lean concrete with proper slope for extra protection.
- Use rubber hand gloves & safety goggles, while using Plastochem 209 Crete+.
- In case of contact with skin, wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice, if needed.
- Keep out of reach of children.
